He Hides From His Dad
A Wicked Father, A very Frightened Child

He Hides from His Dad
A boy in the dark, a secret held tight,
Hiding in shadows, out of the light.
The cupboard’s small, but his heart beats fast,
As he waits for the danger to pass.
Outside, the bad man’s steps grow near,
But the boy stays silent, fighting his fear.
His breath is shallow, his hands grip the door,
Hoping for safety, hoping for more.
His world is a dim through the cracks in the wood,
He dreams of the day he’ll escape for good.
But for now, in the dark, he must wait,
Hoping the bad man won’t know his fate.
In the hush of the room, the silence so deep,
The boy holds on tight, refusing to weep.
Hidden away from the man’s cruel gaze,
A child in the dark, lost in a frightening haze.

Very strong 👍
I love this, it called out to me and my type of work dark, deep and layered.
This is such a vivid and emotional piece—it captures fear and hope so powerfully. The imagery pulls you right into the boy's world. Beautifully haunting.

This is so sad that this kind of thing is happening really everywhere. Good job in expressing your feelings.
