have you ever met a yellow..

a poem by Malaika K.

By MALAIKA KANGUDJAPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

have you ever met a yellow that you didn't like?/

butter sliding smooth onto toast from a silver knife../

sun streaming through the window from the days' first light../

full moon made of cheese and you wonder, "which kind?"../

dandelions covered in dew and worn behind your ear../

fireflies dance for you; peek-a-boo and disappear../

'06 beetle convertible, wind whipping your hair 'round../

headlights on dusty roads travelling through small towns../

champagne bubbling, red lips, evening gowns../

sands of golden olden beaches, sunkissed tan, inviting you to lay your burdens down../

have you ever met a yellow you didn't like?
