Hauntingly Beautiful Halloween Poem
Reflections on Shadows and Moonlight

Midnight prowls, a cloak on the hollow wind,
Lanterns flicker like echoes lost in time.
Cobwebs weave tales where the darkness thinned,
And frost-touched ivy climbs the moon’s white rhyme.
Silent streets hum with an ancient spell,
Doors creak open to the unseen’s tread.
The trees lean closer, as if to tell
Of long-forgotten paths the stars once led.
Then—
The chill thickens, and shadows draw their breath,
Veiling the world in a velvet mist.
The air shivers, touched by whispers of death,
Yet hope glimmers, by the moon’s edge kissed.
Goblins tread lightly through brittle leaves’ sound,
And ghosts find solace where silence is found.

I love the voice behind your words, it’s soft relaxed and patient. It worked at making this a smooth read. Very vivid wordings, I love these lines: Cobwebs weave tales where the darkness thinned {such spooky wording, especially where the darkness thinned} {And frost-touched ivy climbs the moon’s white rhyme} this is just genius, the finest combination of descriptive words. My mind is drawn to the frost on the ivy, oh how wonderful that the ivy climbs the moon, then bringing us back to the reality of reading your poem, we are enveloped in your white rhyme. I don’t think I can ever go away without taking this piece with me in memory. You’ve made Halloween a joy to experience with this piece. Well done, and that YOOU for sharing your talent with us.
