In the silence of the night, I hear echoes of our laughter

Moments once shared, now shadows, growing ever after.

The love we had, now a ghost, haunting my every breath

Your memory, a bittersweet ghost, in the chambers of my chest.

The thought of you, with another, sharing dreams and smiles

Turns my heart to a desert, stretching miles and miles.

Laughter that once brought light, now tears my soul apart

As I imagine someone else, holding your once tender heart.

The silence, so loud, it drowns my every thought

A reminder of the messages, the joy you once brought.

Envisioning another, in the light of your attention

Leaves me with a longing, a painful, raw dimension.

Memories, once a refuge, now a source of pain

Every sparkle of your eyes, brings a tear that falls like rain.

I’m caught between the silence, and the thought of you anew

Both are heavy burdens, in a world now painted blue.

What’s worse, the quiet void, or the image of your smile

With someone else beside you, walking mile by mile?

In the end, it's all a struggle, a battle within my soul

To find peace amidst the heartache, and somehow become whole.
