A Poem About PTSD

Haunted - Caillete Creatives 2022

While the world sleeps, a battle rages within my mind.

My thoughts swarm like an unsettled beehive, their echoes intertwining, twisting, and turning, a tempest brewing behind my eyes.

I yearn for rest, yet like a relentless river of reminiscence, the past freely flows.

Amid the silence of the night, a symphony forms. A sorrowful tune orchestrated by the echoes of forgotten phantoms. Within this melancholic melody, my racing heart and breath form a frantic percussion.

Hours slip away. Marked only by the sunrise, its unwelcome rays slipping silently into the room.

I writhe and struggle, a frenzied spirit entangled within the sheets.

Sleep remains elusive, and I, shackled by persistent terrors . . . Remain Haunted.
