Hardwired Beings
the puzzlement in evolving existence

Within our minds a pattern takes shape. Of purposes we perceive but can't escape. For those that navigate with artistry and care. We attribute a will beyond what's really there.
The soaring songbird catching thermals so well. We deem not just biology its motions to propel. It must ponder routes and destinations anew. To slice through air with skill and grace in view.
Choosing paths to fulfill some inner design. A preordained mission it strives to define. And thus we grant it a spirit and soul. When truly it's instinct that guides its whole role.
So too with vehicles operating on their own. Or automatons appearing to have aims they've known. We see thought and emotion where there lies none. Mechanisms and code their each action has run.
For our nature finds agency in mastery. Assigning sentience to any feat we see. And so in our minds tales unfold each day. Of more than machines, mere things we say.
Our conditioning grants life to skills displayed. By creatures not conscious, just hardwired to play. Birds that ponder, cars that feel joy or pain. When truly programmed or innate their each domain.
