Happy Turkey Day!

Gobble, gobble, gobble,

The turkey sits in the middle of the table,

In its rightful place.

Side dishes surround the turkey,

Bowing to its deliciousness,

Hoping to compare.

Mash potatoes, bread rolls, green bean casserole,

Stuffing, deviled eggs, roasted vegetables,

Cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie.

Everyone sits around the table,

Scooping the food onto the plates,

Sharing what's happened to them throughout the year.

The food is now gone,

Or packed into containers,

For the people to enjoy later.

Thanksgiving dinner was last night… it was just as you said. Quality time with my small family. Also included was the day of preparing the meal, more quality time.
