Happy New Year

In the year of 2025

People will die

Hearts will shatter

Promises will be broken

Lies will be told

Some of us will never get to grow old

Women will be abused

Their oppressors will walk free

Children will live in fear

Of our right to bear arms

Wars won’t stop

Bombs will continue to kill

Sponsored by our taxes

Hundreds of thousands of animals

Will be tortured in slaughter houses

New year

Same world

Is our society worth fighting for?

What are we celebrating

If nothing ever changes?

I completely agree! For years I have said that celebrating a new year is useless (and that new year's resolutions are bullshit because they usually don't stick around long term).
