Men and women in uniform gave their all for the love of their country
Each one knows they risk their lives and limbs for the land and people they care for
Matching uniforms they know that it can still be anyone of them at anytime
Orders from above in the chain of command giving the order for war or peace
Rituals of training ingrained for quick memory retrieval
Identification is not always possible if the dog tags are missing
All brave men and women who deserve our respect and pride
Lucky soldiers go home alive, while the tragic ones go home in a flag-covered box
Deep gratitude from the United States citizens every day but especially on this day
Always remember All Gave Some, but Some Gave All
Yet many of us forget who the day stands for in remembrance and believe it is a day for beer and barbeque.

It is so sad that such momentous things get lost as memory fades ๐ค

This is a stunning work of art, Mother. I've given it a shout-out on this week's Raise Your Voice. Well deserved!
