The best of the best in memory lane for me
is seeing my kids spread out under the Christmas tree.
The sound of paper ripping and shredding as the presents unwrap
and the oohs and the aahs that follow the crunch of the scrap.
My mother's heart remembers the sounds of their little feet
as each rushed to see if their wishes Santa did meet.
Their sleepy eyes now wide open and so bright,
their hair all messy in those faces and I'm thinking, "beautiful sight!"
I pause to think of how Mary must have looked at her babe on that night
what a gift in her arms, so priceless and pure, loving Him with all might.
The heart and hope of each innocent child on Christmas morning
is all a parent could ask for...their smiles so adoring.
Is God this happy in Heaven on Christmas morn, I wonder?
When He sees us unwrap our gift of Jesus?, I ponder...

Beautiful slant on the Christmas theme.🤩 Our Heavenly Father rejoices each time one of us gratefully receive his precious gift of Jesus 💜.✅

A sweet poem of special memories the joy of spending it with children.
I think we all remember our little ones on Christmas morning. I have some great memories of them opening their gifts. Great poem - Nicely done.
That's definitely food for thought. Loved your poem!
