Happy

A poem by Andy

By Andy Kenny Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Pastel skies and summer nights,

surrounding sounds fade away.

The salty air is sharp and fresh and bright

but the breeze give the trees a gentle sway.

Waves come crashing in each day

and somewhere distant, kids are laughing.

Yellow turns to orange, pink and purple

and I realise how much time is passing.

Some days I want to stay forever

to forget the troubles of the world.

All I’d want to do is sit and watch

slowly dozing, my vision blurred.

Among sleep ins, baking, watching movies,

putting my favourite song on repeat,

and spending time with everyone I love,

That’s what Happy means to me.
