I remember how you wrote your E’s.

I know each stroke and curve down to a T.

I remember how I couldn’t Cease

My staring as the room would Heat.

.

I remember when I said I’d leave.

Curves of your face showed no distress,

But I’m holding onto the string

Of a girl with whom I was obsessed.

.

You laughed for hours, you never cried.

Your smile left me in awe.

All my tears for you have dried,

So why remember how you draw?

.

Sometimes I wish I’d seen you cry.

Maybe then you’d care a bit more

That the girl you’ve stopped replying to

Has washed up on your shore.

.

I’ve seen others write E’s the same way as you,

Etched in my mind how your pencil would move.

I avoid those people. Moving on is past due,

But I still remember every little thing about you.
