handle bars

hang on tight

don't let go,

we're almost to the top.

i promise that

you can see

all the stars

from where

we're going.

i know

you never learned

how to ride

but

i can teach you

if only

you'll let me.

take my hand

and we can fly

if you trust me.

forget about

our problems

if just for

one more

evening.

let it last

a lifetime

lest the brakes fail

and we go

tumbling down

together.

Dear Mae - So often our stories bring back memories for our readers - I hear that all of the time with mine: When in middle school I saw a coin in the road and put on my hand brakes instantly - Flipped over the bars - Still teased about it to this day. I'm just an Old Fashion StoryTeller and enjoy your lovely 'Original' presentations *I've subscribed with pleasure. This is lovely and with such sparse amount of words, each word is perfectly chosen. Well done!
