haiku for august & end of july
last days of july 2023 & start of august, in haiku

there's a wind and birds
otherwise, very quiet
which isn't always
. . . [7/30/23]
. . .
i do like quiet
' doesn't always mean okay
often does to me
. . . [7/30/23]
. . .
soon will be august
i was just talking of june
both have gone so fast
. . . [7/31/23]
. . .
a bit unsettled
stomach and mind a bit off
i'll look at the trees
. . . [7/31/23]
. . .
and we will all work
in some way we will all work
hoping for the best
. . . [7/31/23]
. . .
breathe and get ready
trying not to make too much
just let it all be
. . . [7/31/23]
. . .
and so it's august
just like that and it is so
okay, it's okay
. . . [8/1/23]
. . .
this quiet is nice
there's a bit of this and that
but it's still quite nice
. . . [8/1/23]
. . .
a big open space
where there is nothing for days
you and tea and space
. . . [8/1/23]
. . .
and i would just walk
walk and walk and walk and walk
then i would sit down
. . . [8/1/23]
. . .
i feel pretty gross
my aggrivation got me
better to be nice
[kind]
[better to let go]
. . . [8/2/23]
. . .
i'll make up some lies
of which i won't tell any
a practice of truth
. . . [8/2/23]
. . .
i want to run, hide
i want to just sit sit sit
but really i don't
. . . [8/2/23]
. . .
or maybe i do
i gots to get real honest
and then make next moves
. . . [8/2/23]
. . .
today is wheelchairs
that's what he'll shop for today
with this oldest girl
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
getting a stair chair
waiting for a part on that
"all days are tough now"
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
they'll all be there now
and i'll be way over here
and that's how it is
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
three are always there
two are just a bit south
so all sort of close
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
sort of impromptu
there's nothing to feel bad for
but these days are strange
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
sometimes i can't eat
decision fatigue keeps me
i just want to stop
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
we're all exhausted
or do i just think we are
tell me i'm wrong please
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
and what if we are
what are we supposed to do
just take it easy
. . . [8/3/23]
. . .
it's a little cool
which i think is very nice
what will i wear though
. . . [8/4/23]
. . .
today is friday
i'm a little anxious though
yesterday was strange
. . . [8/4/23]
. . .
it's so good early
to the beach saturday morn'
do you want to go?
. . . [8/5/23]
. . .
yes is always no
something else gets put aside
later or never
. . . [8/5/23]
. . .
at some point they'll go
and it will just be us 6
that will be so strange
. . . [8/5/23]
. . .
how close will we stay
maybe strange to even ask
will there be a shift?
. . . [8/5/23]
. . .
it sure is nice off
to just be a bit more free
can i do better?
. . . [8/5/23]
. . .
last night, ripped paper
i'll make fresh paper today
another new thing
. . . [8/5/23]
. . .
. . .
dog days of summer? what? i'm not sure. life is a strange thing; living. being. choosing. walking. talking. playing. sitting. working. and such. i hope you're having a nice time between the work and stress. i hope it's fun sometimes. i have fun. haha. just a bit heavy these days i guess! find the fun. find the good. pay attention to what's happening. or something. thanks for reading! take care out there -- Kory

This was a stunning collection of haiku! The range of emotion and how profound they were was sublime! Congrats on Top Story! You have a new subscriber!
I enjoy haiku and this starched haiku is so creative, a great form of expression. Congratulations on your Top Story 🎉
I love haiku and you write the form so naturally. Creates space to just ... take stock and breathe and vent and let go ... and move on. And yes, we are all exhausted.
I love these! I hope you make a book of them someday! My favorite and very profound: “breathe and get ready trying not to make too much just let it all be” I’m using that as a meditation for the day! And to answer another of your haiku, yes, we are all exhausted:) Another beautiful collection! 💞💫
