Author's Note: One thing that I used to enjoy doing as a kid was having summer water balloon fights with my friends. The fond nostalgia from that memory is what fueled this piece.
Adulting can be stressful at times; therefore, I felt that I needed to make more time for old-school fun. Therefore, I'll be having a water balloon day very soon!🎈🤸🏾♀️🎈🤸🏾♀️

Getting Serious About Comedy (Part I)
If I were asked to remark on my life and the childhood that paved some road leading me to this point, I would have to say something about all the funny people who surrounded me for the last 26,872 days (and counting). Somewhere along that road, I became a big fan of laughter and the comedy that spawns it – and, I mean not only my own laughter, but the laughter of others, some of which I have actually been responsible for inducing.

Well, I certainly missed the challenge-sometimes, I just fall so far behind here-sigh... Your haiku brought back my summer childhood. So many fond memories! I think having a water balloon day is a must, and you just might have inspired similar action, involving my four-year-old grandson.
This was such a blast to read—literally! The image of that water balloon exploding on Mom’s updo is hilarious and so vivid. I’m reading through all the entries now, and yours brought such a refreshing jolt of joy. Thank you for reminding us that poetry can play, too!
Ah isn't it fun to throw water balloons on your mom 😂 we used to shoot her with water guns from hidden places.
