Guided Path

She is there

Sweat dripping off of her brow

Moving quickly and with intent

Exhausted but has no choice

Making money for today

For tomorrow she has her eyes pointed to a much brighter future

She is there

Doing dishes and laundry like she does everyday

A mother’s work is never done

Cooking and cleaning

Watching with a close eye

Nurturing hearts and minds

She is there

Working out everyday with the motivation to stay alive

The doctors told her she would be dead by now

She would only have a short time to go

Nothing stops her

She thrives day after day

Loved and supported

Beautiful and healthy

She is there

Watching, listening, and feeling 

She feeds off the energy of those around her

Reaching for the stars

Admiring the sun and the moon

Loving deeply

Watching the other women around her 

Learning how to strive and cope

Setting goals and breaking personal records

Fueled by her ancestors

Watching the world through their eyes

Without them she would not be who she is

Unable to become the woman she is meant to be

She is there

With a grateful heart

Eyes fixed towards the sky

Her feet firmly planted on the guided path
