Growing Up
Is this why I feel so alone?
By Megan RichesPublished 4 years ago • Updated 4 years ago • 1 min read
Today my parents have learnt to understand me.
There is a pain associated with that statement.
Today they are here for me; present when I speak.
But there was a time when they were not.
A time when my words would float in the air to be molded into a weapon against me.
I learnt to look past their wrong doings.
I learnt to forgive them as they learnt to understand me.
And now I am an adult with civil friendships with my parents.
Without the parental feeling attached.
