Growing Taller

Taking a Stand

Some say it’s political

Some say it’s dangerous

Some tell me not to

But my conscience says to me

“DO this!”

So when I stand

I stand for something

That’s deep down in my gut

It’s so strong it pulls at me

And I just can’t ignore it

I believe it comes from God

He wants me to stand

Stand for the downtrodden

Stand for the hated

Stand for the bullied

Stand for the marginalised

Stand for the demonised

He wants me to be there

To support, to love, to listen

Yet my friends tell me

“Be careful - maybe don’t do it

It’s not safe”

But if I don’t do what God says

And what He asks of me

How can I hold my head?

How can I stand tall?

How can I keep growing taller?

The only way I know

Is to do what He commands

And I know He honours that

By blessing me

Helping me grow taller

So in His strength

I’ll keep growing

Growing in love and compassion

In HIS will for my life

And I’m proud to stand

Knowing this is my calling from God

About the Creator

Linda Bromley

Just one of many creative outlets for me has been books! My whole life I’ve loved them and it’s so easy to make the jump to writing.

Recently I completed a poetry challenge and now, looking for more excuses to write, I’ve found myself here!
