Growing Pains

A Poem of sorts

Here we are again

Face to face

No masks

No disguises

Just me and you.

I don't recognize you,

That's nothing new.

It's in a different way though

No shame

No hate

No blame

Sure, I see some regret

But I don't think that will ever go away.

No the person I see now must have grown up a bit

She must be growing into her own skin

Because now when I look at you

I see Love

A bit of Confidence

A dash of Wisdom

And a heart full of Hope.

I can tell you still have some growing to do

But for the first time,

I can really say I am proud of the girl in the mirror.
