My Cabbage Patch doll
I buried her in the dirt
so she’d grow with me
*
When unearthed last year
still wearing a dress and shoes
she looked worse for wear
*
The mark on her bum
visible after a wash ~
her own ‘signed’ tattoo
*
I smiled and chuckled
as she dried off in the sun
and I remembered
