Green

Green is my favorite color, and it always has been

There's no other color that I feel best in.

I put on my green shirt, green headband, green sweater,

My husband tells me he thinks blue would look better.

Blue is alright, it makes the top five,

but it's not quite the color that makes me feel alive.

Green is for growth; may we never stop learning.

Green is for life, like the new life in Spring.

During the last of winter, as the cold begins to fade,

I sometimes wonder just why is green my fave.

Then Spring rolls in, and life abounds.

And everything turns green that once was brown.

With the dawn of Spring, there is no doubt

I love life, and green is what it's all about.

Walk through the forest, pet a frog, hug a tree.

Green is my favorite color, and the color of me.
