Greedy words

Poem

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Greedily looking, stalking

I’m a rare one I can hear you

Pining

The world is a black hole and in it

I’m sinking

Because you’re fantastic and we are free

We know the world is shit

But we still love

Anyway

I’m a horror story we lie in a deep night full of tears and terrors

Our daylights bloody nightmares

Black and blue and orange inside

Rare inside we are

For not letting hatred cover us up

Rare we are for not covering up love

With fear

Rare we are for not letting horror

Seep out like a greedy word,

Slippery like a worm, elongated and pompous

The word that slithers in your ear and makes you feel eaten alive.
