Greed Is a Course We All Take

A poetic lesson about wanting too much and finding what really matters

By Fazal HadiPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

We all enroll without a clue,

Chasing more than we ever knew.

A little taste, then sudden need—

The aching hunger born from greed.

We crave the shine, the praise, the prize,

Ignoring truth behind the lies.

We want the tallest, brightest flame,

But lose ourselves inside the game.

The more we grab, the less we feel,

The things we hoard don’t help us heal.

We miss the small, the soft, the true—

The things that make a life feel new.

Greed teaches hard with silent weight,

It strips us down before it's late.

But in that quiet, hearts awake—

A course we take, but not retake.
