Greatness

Bound to greatness are we

if we live on instinct and spasm,

And search a thesaurus for "sorry"

and find beauty in sarcasm.

-

If making statements is our goal,

and truth be told in but, hiding.

If we abandon the depth of our soul,

and climbing somehow becomes sliding.

-

If beauty is the human hair

and values are mocked to death.

And dogs walk before us to steer,

and alcohol steals our breath.

-

If money is the greatest treasure

and purpose is set so far.

If life is just a chase of pleasure,

then bound to greatness, we are.
