Great Love Inside the Darkness

A Standard Drip-Droplian Sonnet

By Scott A. VancilPublished 4 years ago Updated 6 months ago 1 min read

Inside my studio I sat alone

Inside myself I bitch, indeed I moan

About my woes and how I have no money

While all the others're drenched in milk and honey

Luckiest people on planet Earth, forsooth.

As my depression worsens, I shall soothe

This ache: Burritos in my stomach now.

I turn around the darkened corner– POW!

-

But what I've found at first I do not know

I open up my eyes to such a show.

A little doggie; oh, she is so cute.

I've not a thought to sadness now, so moot.

-

My day is brightened by those soaking licks.

I shall return into my cave with hope.
