I woke up early this morning
I knew it would be one of those days
The sun didn’t seem to be peeking out
Where it usually should have been

The sky was dark and cloudy.
Thunder was far off in the air
I knew the day would be stormy
But what do I care?

A lovely summer storm was on the way
So I just took the chance to cuddle up
With a book and a nice hot cup of Joe
Watching out the window at the storm moving in

The grey cat decides to join me
Warming my lap as he sleeps and purrs
I can’t concentrate on my book
With this storm moving in
*
The day promises to be gray and rainy
But what do I care?
I have nowhere to be today
So I’ll just sit right here.
