Grave Born

Dirty fingernails

Born under a new moon

Bathed in pressure

Stuck within an earthen chute

Craving one second

Of glorious glistening noon

Normalcy

Fingertips touching

Bangs sweeping

Imaginings

Never meant to be

Instead I barely

Clawed my way free

Nails ripped out

Stuck in the earth

Grunting and groaning

Emerging like

The living dead

Walking arms out

Straight ahead

Filthy and pale

Wandering

Squinting

Lost in the sun

Clods of dirt

Falling from my hair

And still

I continue

Shuffling along

Down till present day
