Grand and Glorious

This day, this time has been given to me,

Let me make it all I’d want it to be.

From the first shards of daybreak to evening’s good-bye,

May I give thanks and share it with those who pass by.

I wasn’t promised this vision that I see,

With all of its glory, grandeur, and glee.

But for the moment, this shore I walk upon,

Let me be thankful before it is all gone.

Today with its mercy and grace given freely,

May we all see life, love, and our friends more clearly.

It is now that we share this gracious gift,

It is now that we should bathe in its bliss.

So, with all that is within me, I shout to the heavens,

Thank you for allowing me to see these blessings.

For in time this too shall pass into eternity,

May I create within myself a new vision of life and a new memory.
