Never be off

Always be on

Always be green

Always checking

Always always always

always be closing

Always be climbing

Always be excelling

Always be propelling

Always be energetic

Always be here

Always be there

Always responding

Always replying

Always online

Always scheduled

Always rescheduled

Always present

Always end up in the same place

Always–

Six feet under

Adorning coffin wood

Dreaming, “finally, barriers for me—

—Always.”

This gave me Anxiety... I'm better now though, lol. Great job creating a spiraling effect.

Ooooooof, this is effectively done. Bravo, Matthew. 👏🏻

  • This seemed like a downward spiral but the ending was liberating. Like finally, death. Just let me rest in peace. Lol

That's modern life I guess. Always pushing and not enjoying life and before we know it, we're gone. Great poem Matthew

This it so hard. Getting a break seems to be impossible sometimes.

This packs a punch, yet it wasn’t a dark ending. I saw hope or relief in this.

Powerful piece, Matthew. I like the way you highlighted the finality of the last "always," but didn't paint it as a bad thing.
