Good Enough

A Poem

By Danyelle LewinsonPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Don’t tell me I’m not good enough.

Don’t tell me I’m not pretty enough.

Don’t tell me what to fix on my body.

Guess what I already know.

I am very capable of doing that.

But don’t tell me I’m not good enough.

Guess what I am good enough.

I am good enough for me.

I am my own perfect imperfection.

If I want to change I do it for me.

This is me and guess what I like it.

I am me and I’m good enough.

I tell myself that every day now.

I’m beautiful don’t tell me I’m not.

I’m amazing and a bit shy.

I’m everything you are not.

So telling me something I know...

just hinders me in a long run.

All that telling me I’m not good enough

led to my biggest downfalls.

Cutting, drinking, starving myself.

Depression, hours of me crying myself to sleep.

Even as far as contemplating suicide.

But guess what I’m good enough.

If you don’t think that then there’s always

a door to walk out my life.

I’m stronger than I was 10 years ago.

I have a support system now.

If you want to be in it great.

If not you are dismissed.

I will always tell you

from now and till the end.

I AM GOOD ENOUGH!

Forever and always,

Amethystheart
