If I were a theatrical playbill

about life in my thirties,

the bi-polar production

would be a harmonic collection

of short stories performed on

large stages about the evolutionary

stages of my life’s hormonal phases.

...

I took studded reigns into my

dreams to tame the knight’s mare.

I used diamond-shaped blades to fit

the circled gem into the rusted square.

I thought I made sense of the insightful

thoughts behind the blind stare, instead,

I fell victim to the steps along the stairs.

I always thought that becoming a king

meant you had to pay a prince’s price,

until I shook hands with a leader who’s

crown was acquired by spending good coin

for fair advice.

It's hard to find such poignant poetry - this was one. Beautifully written.
