Good Bye

When letting go is the hardest love of all

By Habib kingPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

I whispered it softly,

like a leaf torn loose by the wind,

a word too small

for the weight it carried.

“Good bye” is not just a parting,

it is an ocean between hearts,

a bridge that feels too fragile,

a silence louder than thunder.

I wanted to hold on longer,

to freeze time,

to keep your laughter

folded safely in my pocket.

But life, in its quiet wisdom,

teaches us that love is not only staying —

sometimes it is the courage

to release what we cannot keep.

So I say “good bye”

not as an ending,

but as a promise:

that every memory is a candle,

and every tear is proof

that you mattered.

Even distance cannot erase

the imprint of your presence.

You live in the spaces between my days,

in the rhythm of my breath,

in the hope that one day,

we’ll meet again where farewells

are no longer needed.
