You're Gonna Miss Me Now That I'm Gone

You're gonna miss me when I'm gone

:

Someone else told you that

and they were right

:

I lingered too long

Thinking that if we talked things over

and I put enough effort

into correcting my mistakes

everything would be alright

:

I was wrong

:

Because you can only

put so much effort

into a relationship

when another refuses

to put any effort in

on their end

:

I deserve better

than what you gave me

:

Forsaking

Silence

Blame shifting

Immaturity

exceeding your ability

to talk through things

Pride too strong

to admit when you were wrong

:

I deserve

what you didn't give me

:

I deserve

as much as I give

:

Presence

Understanding

Problem solving through

authentic communication

Humble apologies

and forgiveness

:

I deserve

unconditional love

:

So….

So long

:

Watch my footsteps

dissolve in the sand

:

You're gonna miss me

now that I'm gone

love poems
