Landing like a bird,

carried on winds wings,

your voice echoes with spoken word

everyone shedding a tear when your voice sings.

Eyes so blue like the deep ocean days,

smile so bright your laughter warms,

hair so yellow like the suns mighty rays

your beauty holding back all the life storms.

With applause of thunder, you entered our life

and for that time we not knew pain,

for in that time, there was not such a thing as strife,

and our hearts would never be the same again.

When you left in the night, on wings full like a sail,

our hearts broken and eyes burned of salty tears,

you were gone in the wind.

Writing has become more important as I live with cancer. It's a therapy, it's an escape, and it's a way to do something lasting that hopefully leaves an impression.
