Going Backwards

To comfortably make it work

Microgreen, sprout, hydroponic,

Play peek-a-boo

On my indoor miniature farm

Translucent stem, true green leaf

Propagating, cuttings, one more time I’ll try the avocado

little glass jars on window seals, I am a grower

Post germination, I plant

Come May my world

Over joyed, greening

My efforts of fall spring

Forth seemingly overnight

Roots reach into the dark warming ground

Taking long sips of winter’s snow

Cotyledons hide in hope of sprouting

Oh my comfort, my delight

Mighty Mycelium, and Mycelium

Food in the making just beneath the soil

Oh the delicious anticipation of you

Reaching toward the light
