My life is like an ocean,
often times
A storm
Sweeping across countries in rage
In attempt to prove
That no man can control me
totally unpredictable waves crashing
pulling me out deeper than I can understand
Swallowing my air
Taking me for a ride
I didn’t think I was ready for
Almost drowning me
Until I let go
In sweet surrender
Underwater
I slowly sink
Until I am cast upon the shoreline
Fully embraced by the warm sand
The sun glistening
Welcoming a new day
Bronzed with wisdom
The salty air
Tangled in my hair
Wrapping my curls in a perfect design
A delicate balance
Between water and earth
I then become the soft rhythm
Of the salty tides
Playing tug of war
With the grains of our ancestors
Kissing the earth sweetly
Until we someday
Ask them to join us
In the mystery of tomorrow
About the Creator
Veronica
I am the moss silken on watered stones, rooted deep in rich soil. Earthen creature, I am the night sky -starry and strayed from the forgotten path of poets - I am, the chatter from the iron rails rattling as the train carries itself home.
