someone tried to tell me

that the world was gonna end in days

and then another bloke kind of yelled at me

regarding several errors in my ways

i looked at both of them all slack jawed

thinking that this is just my luck

and right there at that very moment

i was at the edge of giving a fuck

some one tried to show me once

both the carrot and the stick

i saw good measure of the latter

on account of being young and dull and thick

i could have been a contender

and not just another schmuck

and so i went on a three day bender

i might have almost given a fuck

somedays i feel like i’m human

and that’s an awful cross to bear

bad enough to have to pretend to feel

but to have to pretend to care as well?

so eventually on a scale of one to ten

incremented to blow and suck

i was told charity begins at home

and not to give a single fuck

This speaks to me on so many levels. I don't know how you always manage to write what I'm feeling and thinking, and do it so freaking well. Fantastic work, Brenton.
