Give & Take II

Life often takes from me what I wish it would give, and gives me what I wish it would take away.

if i could sell this storm i've been given,

and trade my tears for a smile

i would

trade my sorrow for hope

i would

if i could give back trauma

and take back security

i would

i wouldn't wait for tomorrow, to

take away all my years, for a morning of peace,

so long as that night be my last‐

i'd give away all the time i have left for a single second of peace before my last breath

if it would take away all that stands at the ends that never met

i wouldn't hesitate

to rid my being of all desire

if it would take regret's chains from my hands,

and despair's shackles from my feet-

if life would just leave me be,

and let me perish free‐

if i were given,

or if i could take,

that key,

i wouldn't hesitate

not for a moment,

i wouldn't wait

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
