Girls are Ghost too
This poem was inspired by true life event. A love that never was

Stilletos and Broken ballet toes
Cinderella tip toes past a sleeping cupid
She falls into the hands of a zombie Romeo
Every time she tries to fall in love he stabs her.
Every character in her fantasy is nothing like the man she lies with…
And as for me, I’m the man she lies to.

I’m home and lonely
Staring at the last decent text she sent
Fanning the dying embers of broken love
The debris is a crown of thorns I proudly wear.
When I say “it is finished” your ghost will come for me after Easter
Three days of silence is not enough for you.
Make it one
Weak.
7 days of uninterrupted online presence and shards of lightening shining through memes and snapchat selfies
I lost count of how many times I felt your ghost pass through me.

I am clouds and you
are sunshine and rain
In my ice age phase you hide Your face.
Girls are ghosts sometimes.
When the Cinderella syndrome evolves into something sinister.
Like unread messages and unkempt apologies aided by autocorrect. I was not taught to
love like this.
Tiny breaks are fine until the bridge is broken and you have to parachute to where I dug your grave.
Girls are ghosts
Sometimes. I wonder if you wonder what I’m doing
If you pick up the phone or just walk to the voice messages and stare blankly.
Calls
Unanswered.
Texts
On red
Text me when you……girls are ghosts sometimes!
Text me when you learn! how! to! breathe again.
