In Grandma's cozy kitchen, warm and bright,
Where memories dance in the soft candlelight,
There's a cherished ritual, simple and sweet,
That makes childhood moments so complete.
Gingernut biscuits, crisp and golden-brown,
Their spicy aroma swirling all around,
Dipped into cordial, ruby-red and tart,
Creating flavors that forever impart.
With eager fingers, I reach for a treat,
Nostalgia and anticipation meet,
The crunch of biscuit, the tang of juice,
In Grandma's kitchen, there's no excuse.
The laughter echoes, a joyful refrain,
As we indulge in this simple, cherished game,
Each dunk and nibble, a moment divine,
In Grandma's haven, where love intertwines.
Oh, how those gingernuts and cordial combine,
To transport me back to a simpler time,
To Grandma's house, where memories are made,
In the sweetness of childhood's serenade.
