We were close.
Closer than you think.
We were tight,
Until that night
Then gone in just a blink.
—
We shared it all,
Our thoughts and plans and dreams.
Our world was one
And it was fun
Until we bursted at the seams.
—
We were young.
Our eyes were fresh with wonder.
We thought we’d go
And together grow
But then everything went under.
—
We were small,
Little seedlings, if you will.
Imaginations
Without limitations
And it was all just fine until…
—
You ghosted me.
And in the shadow I must stay,
Unseen, unknown,
Now fully grown,
With nothing left to say.
—
I died that day.
And you had to leave me behind.
Or what little light
Was left inside
Never would have shined.
—
I get it now,
Though I must say I’m still uneasy
About how my own
Mind has shown
It doesn’t even see me.
—
You ghosted me.
—
Sincerely Signed,
Your dissociated mind.
