Get me the Moon

I'd burn for you, even from afar

My love for the moon,

now that is a tale that has an old tune

A song I'll sing 'til the end of time

a hymn so soft and so very mine

*

From the day I saw you so long ago

I'd been in a daze of awe and woe

Your glow has won over my soul

be it a dim half-ring or an orb of gold

*

I see you when you try to hide

no veil will make you hard to find

I know you are sad, as you are far and lone

and yet you don't stop the cast you'd sewn

*

My dear moon, I know the ails you bear all day

If only you were near, I'd take them away

I'd oust your pain with hugs and not let go

even if I die, then let it be so

*

for I'd opt to pass with you in my hold

than cry each hour you feel the cold

Only, I fail to find even one way,

so I'll love you from here for the rest of my days

*

It is, in fact, sad we can't ever meet

our span too big, the void too deep

Just know my love is like a star

I'd burn for you, even from afar

I love this one. The moon is certainly a mystifying sight, and your romanticisation of it certainly paints an enigmatic and avid picture along with that. Well done!
