~Generation NeXt~

A Devilish Night

Broadway Street lights,

Night winds blow

In the Light, you glow,

Feeling warm and cozy

As you stand in front of your

Living room window,

You’re wandering into;

Another World of thoughts,

Another world of Consciousness

You're strained with certain thoughts

On life,

That you believe 17 is too young to know

Why is it that someone

‘Anyone’

Is freezing to death,

Every year, when the winter arrives here?

There’s enough food and shelter

To go around,

No one should be suffering

Nothing for anyone,

Should be out of bounds.

What’s wrong with humans,

How can we call ourselves that?

What’s wrong with this World

That I even have to ask?

Your neighbors

Your block

Continue to go,

Everyday

They are the traffic jam

Along Broadway;

To live to die,

To work and to home

That’s just the way,

If you want success

“You must work Hard” that’s what they say,

to live a life, of Happy Blissfulness?

Only where has that brought us,

What is Success?

Is it doing ‘your best’?

Is it being your happiest?

Is it making more money, than all the rest?

Working so hard,

You miss out on the best of things

Not living long enough to understand

What it all means.

‘Ignore the sick and dying, Ignore the Poor”

Begging for money

Unless they get under your feet,

Then you scream at the Police

To “Take them away”

You fear what you don’t know

For you might be wrong,

(What if?)

About the money and all that it gives,

Does it really mean Success,

Or could it be the ‘poor’

No the answer to this question best?

You tell yourselves

That “They” have no purpose,

(But what have you done in the world today?)

Except to ask for your

Hard-earned money,

Which you would never

Hand over anyway,

So more or less you

‘Just let’ the bums, freeze to death,

And never quite know for yourself,

The reasons why;

The Stars shine bright

Beyond the City lights,

The Moon is full and white

As the World Evolves,

People grow old,

And Cold;

There’s more murders, dishonesty

And despise,

People run and People hide,

To try and forget the signs

Of these times;

(What’s living in Suburbia anyway?)

To be so blind, selfish, and unkind

Believing in your mind

That it will go away,

But it’s not

It’s here to stay,

Only to get worse

Day by Day,

Because it’s always ‘somebody else’s problem

Isn’t it?

Meanwhile, we continue to bring

Children into this World,

Leaving once again

The Worst mess that’s today

For Generation NeXt,

To see all that we are not

Understanding, while they grow

And discover more questions

that have no answers yet!

Yet we mustn’t let it get us down,

We must continue to live our lives,

As long as the World is going

Round and Round,

Though we cannot change,

Nor re-arrange the

Worlds fate,

Or Natures run of destruction

And wars of all kinds

Your neighbors

Your block

Continue to go,

Everyday

They are the traffic jam

Along Broadway,

To live, to die,

To work and to home

That’s just the way,

To live a life of

Happy Blissfulness?

A Devilish night,

Broadway street lights

Night winds blow,

In the light, you glow

Feeling warm and cozy

As you stand in front

Of your living room window;

Strained with the thoughts

Of Life, You Know!
