Gazing.

my infinity.

By Alex BarbuPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

you know, i have been

picking stars

and constellations

with all the girls i’ve

loved

since i knew what stars were -

an infinitely burning celestial mass

just like my infinitely burning heart for all

the things i’ve loved.

for you see, you put a bit of

yourself

in everything you love and cease loving.

i mean there’s maui’s hook,

that always seems to guide me,

watch me

wherever i am on earth.

oh - here’s a recent one:

orion’s head.

big bright;

easy to remember -

but the girl with golden eyes was easy

to forget.

the girl with golden hair, however,

some tiny star in some tiny corner

of infinity.

small dim; easy to forget -

but the girl -

oh, the girl -

so easy to remember, though i wish

that was not the case.

i should turn to my roots

the shooting stars and maui

forever lighting my steps in the night

and my mind in the darkness.
