Frozen Together

Enduring the first major snow storm of the season

Frost touches the tips of my fingers

Raw with chill as it lingers

Our eyes glazed with winters sight

Zero temperatures with sharp cold stingers

Enveloped by the sheer whiteness that surrounds us

Never-ending wind whistles day and night

Trying to gather as many logs to build a fire

Our only hope for survival is a little flame

Getting warm will save us from freezing to death

Everything we need to help keep the cold out

The strength of these walls protects us

Hearing the blizzard winds echoing throughout the chilly night

Everything's frozen solid within our sight

Remembering we can withstand any storm
