frozen leaves

bring you snugly warm memories

I have brought my memories to life

with one single brush of the hand

a gesture worth mentionin’

I picked up my pen and it was all there

I raised my eyebrows and everythin’ disappeared

yet I have learned

how to re-evoke these feelings

through various photographs remindin’ me of it

a world frozen under an autumn lake

you’re still standin’ there

holdin’ hands, the truth untold

it has manifested throughout our lives

so very soon I became obsessed

with lookin’ back, diggin’ up answers

as no one would dare to follow me in this venture

I was left alone in this business

too many paths to follow, too many obfuscated ways

too scared to look at all of them

at one time

this time the choice must be mine

as you did everythin’ you could

to keep me out of the clear view

how could that happen and what was that for?

it all dissipates in a thick fog

in the mist by the lake where we all left

our memories on this frozen trail
