As the morning stretches
Her breath is the air
Once soft supple edges
Now frost lines her hair
Shadows find the fault lines
Winter’s scent fills the air
The wind whispers through the pines
Towering branches, newly bared
Owls hoot out a warning
As the rain turns to sleet
A new season is dawning
As autumn falls asleep
Blankets of snow falls in moments
Warming the heart like a fire
Drawn out like a magnet
Sparkling like sapphire
And the air is electric
Snaps of shock on bare skin
The scene is eclectic
The breeze sing like violins
And the tune is addictive
Seems to pull us along
The weather as unpredicted
As her sweet winter song

Very nice, Kelli. I especially liked these two lines: "A new season is dawning As autumn falls asleep" - they kind of say it all.
Great poem, Kelli. Early reminder that winter is on the way
Beautiful way to show seasons changing. :)
