The shore is warm and dry, stable and sound
The sand caresses skin and keeps it safe
Allow some firmer footing to be found
Water can drown, while grains can only chafe!

The sea holds me with fond and loving arms
Water cleans and refreshes everything!
My tail can become limbs, through occult charms
But why would I risk that for your groping?

Do not mistake my love for vulgar lust
My heart will remain yours, on sea and land
Before fragile desire turns to dust
Abandon this strange fringe, and take my hand!

What I see of your flesh delights me not
I'll remain fresh and you can, lonely, rot!
