Friends First
A Poem

You gotta be my friend first
If you want anymore
Otherwise it’s the worst
Anything otherwise
Is a relationship born in a hearse
A cursed existence
Of trying to force something you believe is attraction
But in reality is nothing but distraction
Leaving you with the feeling
Of being nothing more than a fraction of your former self
Stripped of any sense of self
