Swirling around, thin rimmed vessels of earthen clay,
soothing souls, sitting here awhile, to pray.
Touch my lips with encouragement and validation,
no judgement nearby and surely not a hint of damnation.
Coaxing awhile, immersed in stories of life's fables,
imagination a bit outlandish, like Anne, in Anne of Green Gables.
No close friends to be had out of the fear of being known,
seclusion simply seems easier and it is comfortable to be alone.
Resting warm, reflecting on all the things that tried to sour life,
anxiously desiring something more than just flickering strife.
One day a best friend will become the comforting drink that I hold,
hopefully sooner than later, before I am worn out and old.
